The Homeowners Association have long been debating security measures for the area. From 2019 – 2022 a full investigation into the feasibility of gating the total property was undertaken by a task team, consisting of volunteer homeowners and the Trustees. This did not have full support of all home owners at the time. Nevertheless – the objective was to find an affordable and allowable solution. The plan at the time faced a number of challenges related to municipal approvals. In late 2022, another project in a similar community nearby, embarked on a new approach where they lease land from the municipality for open access gates. The Trustees’ decision was to put the La Pastorale gated community project on hold, monitor developments and keep homeowners informed.
